CD Review: The MGA Sessions

Siobhan Fahey
The MGA Sessions

SF Records

She was the odd girl out in pop trio Banararama before she transformed into Shakespear’s Sister and more recently has had her dark electronic solo songs lightened up by The Pussycat Dolls. This album is the soundtrack to a film that was never made, previously given a limited release in 2005, it’s now available digitally for the first time. Dark, moody and orchestral, filled with multi layered vocals and muted sounds. It’s not a pop collection but an intimate cabaret sound. Where the Party breaks the mold from the other tracks – it’s a glam rock jam. Listen to this in the dark, late at night.
