Christmas and New Year Support

For some of us the Christmas/New Year holiday period can be the loneliest time of the year. The GLCS phone support and information line (9420 7201) will be staffed as usual over the holiday period, with our dedicated volunteers available most weekday evenings 7-10pm. However, the line will not be staffed on public holidays (Christmas eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day; New Years Eve and New Years Day). For 24/7 telephone counselling over the holiday season contact Lifeline (13 11 14). If you require urgent assistance contact Crisis Care (9223 1111). This local service can provide advice and referral for a range of crisis situations, including family-related matters, homelessness and domestic violence. More general information on how to seek assistance is available at www.glcs.org.au.
