Take in stories from the northern-most reaches of our world at the upcoming 2026 Nordic Film Festival.
This year’s Hurtigruten Nordic Film Festival is loaded with the best cinema from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
The festival will feature two special presentations. The first is a comedy drama from Iceland, The Love That Remains. Directed by Hlynur Pálmason, this bittersweet film captures a year in the life of a family of five as their parents navigate separation and their shared memories.
Second is Butterfly starring Renate Reinsve and Helene Bjørneby of the critically acclaimed films Sentimental Value and The Worst Person in the World respectively. This intriguing drama brings together a pair of estranged sisters as they travel to Gran Canaria after the sudden passing of their mother.
Other highlights include music-filled new drama Árru, breathtaking disaster thriller The Fires, the Mads Mikkelsen-led devious comedy The Last Viking and a 60th anniversary celebration of Igmar Bergman’s radical masterpiece Persona.
