For the month-long Fringe World season, the vacant space of Metro City will be transformed into a multi-story immersive tribute to the surreal.
Perth curator Robert Buratti brings the work of legendary Surrealist master Salvador Dali to Northbridge in a massive exhibition marking the 30th anniversary of the artist’s passing.
The exhibit will feature over 200 of Dali’s unique works, including sculpture, drawing, film, photography, graphic design and even virtual reality.
Dali Land visitors will also be able to experience the Dada Cinema, with a curated selection of the best Surrealist films of all time. Works from Marcel Duchamp, Maya Deren, Max Ernst, Hans Richter and more will all take viewers on a journey out of reality.
The Fringe World space will also host some fabulous live events, opening the season with The Surrealist Ball; a cocktail event like you’ve never seen before.
Pop star Lily Allen will also be returning to Perth to take to the stage at Dali Land, celebrating the release of her fourth record No Shame.
Fringe World favourites Briefs will also be heading back to the west coast, taking over Dali Land after dark for an immersive live journey of carnal mischief and ferocious mayhem.
The boys from Briefs will also be bringing back Club Briefs, teaming up with the fierce ladies of Hot Brown Honey to be perform in the heart of Dali Land at the Surrealist Salon.
Dali Land will also play host to Dali Dinners, a secondary art exhibition featuring Surrealists such as Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, Andre Breton as well as local contemporary artists Stormie Mills, Kyle Hughes-Odgers, Katie Moore and more.
