Jodie Whittaker returns as The Doctor alongside her three companions Graham, Ryan and Yasmin, and there off to visit a whole new range of locations and times.

Some of the guest stars confirmed for the new series include Stephen Fry, Sir Lenny Henry, Robert Glenister and Goran Višnjić. There will also be some well known foes returning with both the Judoon and Cyberman spotted in the new trailer.

For Glenister it’ll be his second time as a guest star on the show, he first appeared on Doctor Who back in 1984 in the episode The Caves of Androzani. Producers have confirmed the star of Spooks and Hustle will be playing a new character.

The series is expected to return in early 2020, but will be preceded by an additional episode that will air around New Year. The show has been off-air in 2019 leaving fans eagerly awaiting new instalments of the Doctor’s adventures.

The new series will be the twelfth since the show was relaunched in 2005. Over all it’s the 38th series of the show which first appeared on TV screens in 1963.

In 2018 Jodie Whittaker became the first woman to play the Doctor. The character has previously regenerated their body taking on new personas, but has previously always been male. Whittaker is the thirteenth actor to take on the iconic role.

Take a look at what’s in store for the travelling Time Lord and her companions.
