Fresh Tracks | The latest tunes worth checking out

On Mondays we check out the latest music that’s got our attention.

This week we take a listen to new tracks from Laufey, Aldous Harding, Pond, Melanie C and Seefeel.

Laufey – Madwoman

Laufey has tapped the talents of Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams for her latest video. The Canadian star appears in the Icelandic singer’s clip alongside Olympian Alysa Liu, Megan Skiendiel from girl-group Kayseye and Forbidden Fruits’ Lola Tung.

Aldous Harding – Venus is Zinnia

Aldous Harding’s new album is on the way, it’ll arrive on 8 May. The 10-track Train On The Island was co-produced by long-time collaborator John Parish. This latest track features H. Hawkline.

Pond – Two Hands

Terrestrials will be the tenth album from local band Pond. It’ll arrive on 19 June. The band’s first record arrived in 2009 and their most recent work was just two years ago in 2024.

Alongside their work in Pond band members Nick Allbrook, Jay ‘GUM’ Watson, ‘Shiny’ Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry and James ‘Gin’ Ireland have also put out solo records and other collaborative projects. This week Allbrook’s new outfit Walrus will be playing RTRFM’s iconic In The Pines concert at UWA.

Melanie C – Attitude

This is the fourth song from Melanie C’s forthcoming album Sweat which will arrive on 1 May. The record will be the Spice Girl’s ninth solo album.

Seefeel – Until Now

Electronic artist Seefeel are returning after a fifteen year absence since their last full length record, a mini-album arrived in 2024. Sol.Hz has been described by the band as their “dub” album and it’s much more sedate than some of their previous work.
