Fringe World officially open to the public today, but it got its official launch last night with a VIP event at pop-up venue The Ice Cream Factory.
The performers from Club Swizzle, one of the most hotly anticipated shows on the program, entertained the large contingent of guests.
Guests were welcomed to the event by Fringe World CEO Marcus Canning, Festival Director Amber Hassler, and Perth’s Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi, before Premier Mark McGowan officially opened the month long festival.
Now in it’s seventh year, the festival has grown to be the third largest Fringe Festival in the world. This year more than 750 events will be held at venues all across the metropolitan area.
After the formality of speeches, the crowd were entertained by Club Swizzle identity, the outrageous Reuben Kaye, before a quartet of muscular acrobats took to the stage to show off their leaps, flips and tumbles.
