Hibernation Season

Greetings fellow Bears, chasers, admirers and everyone else.

With winter almost here, the time for hibernation is soon to be upon us and where does the smarter than your average bear hibernate to?
Melbourne! From the 12th – 19th June it’s time for the biggest annual Bear festival in Australia, Southern Hibernation. Vic Bears presents a week of fun filled events, including the competition to crown Mr. Australasia Bear 2011.

This year Southern Hibernation is particularly special for all of us here at Bears Perth. Many of us are making the journey to Melbourne this year to support the winner of our inaugural bear competition Mr. West Oz Bear, Ash Unicomb.

The last West Australian to win the competition was Glenn Dale back in 2002 and having judged three major competitions over the past year, I’m feeling very positive that Ash stands a real chance in bringing the title home once more.

Apart from that though, it’s just great to have our state represented once more and we wish Ash every success on the night.

Hugz
