House music legends join Perth Symphony Orchestra for Kings Park show

Some huge vocalists from the dance music scene are ready to team up with the Perth Symphony Orchestra for an amazing live show in Kings Park.

Orchestrated, a celebration of classic dance tracks will be performed live with the Perth Symphony Orchestra and guest vocalists Daniel Merriweather, Alison Limerick (pictured), and Ilan Kidron from The Potbelleez.

The show will take over Kings Park & Botanic Garden on Saturday 24 March, 2018 and will marry the euphoria of the most loved dancefloor moments of the past 25 years with the magic of a live symphony orchestra.

Classic tracks from iconic artists like Fatboy Slim, Moby, Underworld, Shapeshifters and Massive Attack will be rearranged, remixed and reimagined in a brand new Australian production, taking the audience on a journey through the best moments in dance music through the ages; from house and chillout to electronica and the biggest anthems of all time.

Proving the vocals for the event will be British house music star Alison Limerick, the voice behind a swag of ’90s club hits including Where Love Lies and Make It on My Own. Limerick also provided vocals on several tracks for acid-jazz outfit James Taylor Quartet.

Also appearing is Melbourne born singer Daniel Merriweather who scored a huge hit when he appeared on Mark Ronson’s Versions album, while Ilan Kidron is the voice behind many of The Potbeleez hits including Don’t Hold Back. 

Tim McGee, the CEO of Ministry of Sound Australia shared his excitement about the event.

“After working in clubs and events for 25 years, the chance to take these much loved records onto a big stage in this exciting new format with a full orchestra is a brand new chapter in the ever evolving story of the Ministry Of Sound brand,” McGee said.

Orchestrated will bring to life the most memorable dance tracks of all time with the Perth Symphony Orchestra playing alongside one of Australia’s most loved DJs, Groove Terminator.

The orchestra will be led by acclaimed Conductor Jessica Gethin, alongside Musical Director Adam Sofo and with music arranged by platinum- selling artist and composer Lionel Towers (Gypsy & The Cat) and Lionel Shave (Etherfox, [love] Tattoo).

Conductor Jessica Gethin said she was excited about bring the show together.

“As a conductor, my job is to bring music to life on stage; this show brings a party to the stage! To have the chance to conduct some of the best dance anthems of all time reimagined by a symphony orchestra is going to be an extraordinary experience for the entire audience… bring it on!” Gethin said.

The show is on Saturday 24th March at Kings Park & Botanical Gardens. Tickets go on sale on Monday 15th January from Ticketmaster.
