Knowing Your Jeremy Jordans

Jeremy Jordan 2-horzOn his Twitter account Broadway star Jeremy Jordan proclaims “Google me. I’m not the 90’s pop singer/model. I’m also not the gay porn star. I’m the other one.”

You may have seen Jeremy Jordan, the other one (pictured right), earlier this year when he took on the role of bad boy singer Jimmy in the second season of the TV show ‘Smash’.

Jordan first found success on Broadway in revival of ‘West Side Story’, he’s gone on to star in ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ and the musical ‘Newsies’. In fact when he first joined the cast of ‘Smash’ he was still appearing on Broadway each night in ‘Newsies’. Jordan’s most recent role has been in a one off concert presentation of ‘Hit List’ – the musical that features within the TV show ‘Smash’.

Jordan’s next engagement is in the film version of the musical ‘The Last 5 Tears’ opposite Anna Kendrick.

So who are the other Jeremy Jordans?

Back in the early 90’s when ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ was the hottest show on TV, Jeremy Jordan (the pop star, pictured on the left) scored a big hit when his tune ‘The Right Kind of Love’ was featured in the show and on it’s soundtrack album. The video where Jordan hung out on a basket ball court wearing an unzipped hoodie that showed off his abs and pecs probably helped quite a bit as well. Jordan scored a second hit with ‘Wanna Girl’.

The up and coming singer certainly got everyone’s attention when he appeared nude in ‘Interview’ magazine. In the interview that accompanied shots of Jordan in tight bikini underwear he revealed his name was not really Jeremy Jordan by Don Henson, the Jordan moniker had been chosen by his record company.

Jordan didn’t release any more records but tried to make a move into films. He had a small role in the comedy ‘Bio-Dome’ alongside Pauly Shore and Kylie Minogue, and later went on to act in films like ‘Never Been Kissed’ with Drew Barrymore and Greg Araki’s ‘Nowhere’.

The third Jeremy Jordan (pictured centre) made his name in adult films. A Canadian, Jordan first appeared in films for the label ‘Jocks’ an offshoot of the successful Falcon label. Blonde haired Jordan was famed for his passive roles and won several adult film awards. He stopped making films in 2005.

Jordan, the adult film actor, was featured in ‘XXX’, a coffee table book by photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. The book featured 30 adult film actors photographed both clothed and nude.
