Lady Gaga Clocks Up 20 Million Twitter Followers

Pop star Lady Gaga has become the first person to gain 20 million followers on Twitter. Gaga beat teen sensation Justin Bieber to the title, Bieber has only 18 million followers. Gaga has been the most popular person on Twitter since she took the mantle from Britney Spears in 2010.

Gaga has successfully utilised to the social networking site to connect with her fans, promote her music and video releases. Unlike many celebrities who have a team of people to update their accounts Gaga writes her updates personally.

Most recently Gaga has been tweeting about speaking at Harvard, watching bridal shows on TV and praising Bruce Springteen’s new record.

According to Twittercounter.com – the people who pay attention to the social network’s rankings – Gaga sports over 20 millions, Bieber trails with 18 million, Katy Perry clocks in with 15 million and Shakira is just ahead of Rhianna in the 14 millions zone.

Gaga became the first person to have 18 million followers in January and has picked up 2 million new followers in the interviewing two month period.
