Learn all about sauna etiquette at Steam Works

Join WAAC Population Health and Community Development Officer Shane for a one-hour workshop exploring the dos and don’ts of Sauna etiquette this Saturday at Steam Works.

This workshop is for men who have always wanted to go to a sauna but have been to nervous to attend. You can also stick around after the workshop to ask questions and have a tour of the space.

During this workshop you will learn the traditional layout of most saunas, how to read body language and use it to give consent or to turn someone down, the proper way to act in dark rooms, sling rooms, and glory holes. Plus how to engage in conversations around the type of men you will find in saunas as well as how to sit with rejection when you are on the receiving end of it.

There’s also a section on safe sex practices and STI prevention.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular visitor, this event is an opportunity to ask questions, get expert advice, and connect with community members in a welcoming and judgment-free environment.

The doors open at 9:30am on Saturday morning, the presentation starts at 10:00am and runs through to 11:45am. If you want to check out the venue once it’s open for business, you’ll get half-price entry.

Steamworks is located at 369 William Street in Northbridge. Book a spot to attend.
