Police in Port Bolivar, Texas are searching for the perpetrator of the murder of a young lesbian couple whose bodies were found next to a dumpster outside of a convenience store on Friday morning. The victims were reportedly discovered by a beer deliveryman who found the two women around 7.30am when he took out some trash.

The women, Crystal Jackson and Britney Cosby, both 24, lived together in Houston and had traveled to the area for Mardi Gras. They had been missing since Wednesday. According to KHOU, Detectives are trying to locate the victims’ car, a silver 2006 Kia Sorento SUV. Police suspect that the women may have been killed in a different area and then moved and left outside the dumpster.

It is as yet unclear as to whether the murder of the women was related to their sexual orientation, a carjacking or another motive. Relatives have made pleas to the media for anyone with information relating to the crime to come forward.

Jackson’s father told reporters that Jackson worked as a security guard, and that Cosby was a barista at Starbucks. Jackson leaves behind a five year old daughter.
