Local News Briefs – March

BEAR FEST A WINNER
The inaugural Bears Perth, Bearwest festival has been hailed a fantastic success with organisers already saying they can’t wait to do it all again next year. A number of overseas and interstate guests attended the festival, which kicked off on Thursday, March 25 with a ‘meet and greet’ launch at The Brisbane Hotel. Friday night saw just under 100 guys gather at Loton Park for the Bearwest 2010 Den Night, from which part proceeds went to GLCS. After a leisurely river cruise on the Saturday, there was just enough time to race home and change before the main event of the festival, ‘Bear Minimum’ at Connections Nightclub. The event drew such a bumper crowd, Bears Perth president, Paul Hayter said the organisation will discuss the possibility of holding a similar event in the coming months.
