Man on Man – the Queer Guide to AFL

ManOnMan 634x356Checking in on our Footy Tipping Competition featuring local community identities, Drag artists, DJs and members of the OUTinPerth team.

As we head to round four of the competition Jemma from The Court Hotel has maintained her spot at the top of the Tipping Competition Scoreboard, but others are closing in on her.

Sophie Joske is slowly improving having picked four games in Round One, Five in Round Two and Six in Round Three – at this rate by Round 7 – Sophie will be an ace.

The Scoreboard

Jemma from The Court is in the lead with 21 correct picks, following closely with 18 is Paul Van Leishout from RTRFM, OUTinPerth’s Ryan Boldison, Hannah Conda and Wayne from Gay Aussie Selfies. Coming in on 16 points is Sav from Workout Savvy – who has made a big improvement from Round 1 where she ended up at the bottom of the pile.

Following with 15 games correct is Oskar and his cat Mmrr and journalist Sophie Joske, in the middle of the field with 14 points is both Bree and Neil from the Court, photographer Claire Alexander and Andie Michelle from Connections Nightclub. DJ TimBee has 13 games right, BarbieQ has 12 and RyWri scrapes in with 11. At the bottom of the pile is OUTinPerth’s editor Graeme Watson and Connections Nightclub’s Event’s Manager Matty Grose.

There is quite a competitive spirit amongst the participants from The Court. It’s amusing that Jemma is in the lead, while still never having watched a game, Bree is picking her spots via a creative selection process and Neil is carefully studying the form, seeking expert opinion and carefully making his picks – but to little benefit.

Round Three

The Fremantle Dockers let a lot of our tipsters down this week, 75% of our field had backed the Dockers. The Western Bulldogs against Hawthorn was also an up-setter. Most of our contestants backed the Swans over the Crows, while there wasa 50/50 split over the Gold Coast Suns playing the Brisbane Lions. Graeme, Matty and Andie faith in St Kilda didn’t pay off. The other game that made a big difference was North Melbourne against Port Adelaide – only Claire, Matty, Sav, Sophie and BarbnieQ got that one right.
