Mardi Gras Rumours

Cher-001-horz-001With less than a week to go to Sydney’s Mardi Gras parade and party is underway there is a bunch of rumours flying about regarding potential surprise guests. We give the odds.

Robbie Williams

Robbie’s been in Australia over the last week, but even though he’s appearing on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ tonight, the episode was filled on Thursday. Is Robbie going to hang around for an extra week… we think not. Chances 1/20.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie’s got a lot of commitments to ‘The Voice’ not only is she a judge on both the UK and Australian versions of the show, but she’s also a mentor to Mika’s contestants on the French version. Could Kylie sneak in a trip to Australia for Mardi Gras? She does have a new album to promote, but wasn’t she the guest last year? Plus why is she being touted and not Ricki Martin? Odds 1/10.

Dolly Parton

Dolly wraps her Australian tour in Perth on Thursday night. The country singer hates to fly and has been touring around Australia on her custom made tour bus. Could Parton leave Perth on Thursday night and make it to Sydney for Saturday night? If she drove all night…maybe. Let’s face it she has to go back that way to leave the country. Odds 1/5

Lady Gaga

With her recent album struggling, and her new tour just announced Lady Gaga could do with some extra hype. But this one just doesn’t sound likely. Chances 1/10

Cher

Cher’s son Chaz is an official Mardi-Gras guest, and last week Mardi Gras released a promotional video featuring a bunch of Cher look a likes performing on a boat, plus Cher sent out a tweet acknowledging the video. Cher’s world tour doesn’t start to later in the month. If Cher was to fly to Australia just to play Mardi Gras it would be incredibly epic. Odds  2/5
