This is an exhibition not to be missed! Barbara Weir is one of Aboriginal Australia’s Stolen Generation. This sense of separation is explored in her work, yet it is underlined with a deep rooted love and respect of her homeland. Weir effortlessly melds dot work and an ingenious use of line and texture to explore new stories, ones fused with new mediums and new patterns. Add the fact that her work runs from the highly affordable to the extremely covetable (think nearly a quarter of a million) and this becomes an exhibition that not only will beguile, but will intrigue with the new mythologies it paints out for you. It appears at Holmes A Court Gallery until April 5th. www.holmesacourtgallery.com.au
