Kween Kong is out of The Traitors Australia, having been ‘murdered’ on the first night of the reality television show.
The Traitors got their first taste of blood, while the Faithfuls experienced their first Round Table, exposing paranoia, suspicions, alliances and betrayals.
The second episode of the revived series opened with the first breakfast, where the Faithfuls learned who had become the Traitors’ first victim. Sadly for Kween Kong, her suspicions of Kirby Burgess had placed her at the top of the list for ‘murder’.
The drag performer had only appeared out of drag during the arrival episode, and her fellow contestants were eager to see her in drag for the first time. Instead, she only got to dress up to head into a small room and collect an envelope announcing her demise. Just imagine how much luggage a drag queen would have hauled to the remote retreat.
Upon receiving the macabre news of the sudden end to her time in the mansion, Kween said: “I knew it! These people got rid of competition before it even started. How cowardly of you. This is just rude!”
Heading into the first Round Table, cracks began to emerge as paranoia, suspicion and petty feuds that had been bubbling beneath the surface erupted. Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson’s alliance plan proved too much for Shane Gould, who became the first player targeted for banishment.
After being voted the most virtuous player the day before, Shane’s decision to take Cam’s key to the mansion had painted a sizeable target on her back. But it was also her legacy as winner of Australian Survivor that struck fear into the hearts of her fellow Faithfuls.
Explaining why she had played down her Survivor victory, Shane said: “I think the main reason is, it’s one of my minor achievements. I’m one of 26 Australian sporting legends.”
Revealing her true identity as one of the Faithfuls, Shane said: “First of all, I just want to say that I don’t apologise for my big-ness. I have achieved a lot, saving thousands of people from drowning has been one of my major achievements… But, sorry guys, you’ve still got lots of Traitors with you.”
