A MySpace site that claims to be the profile of High Court Judge Michael Kirby may well be Myspace’s first confirmed case of identity fraud. The site contains a photograph of Justice Kirby next to a blond woman titled ‘I’m a smiling pimpâ? and a letter addressed to his parents in which he grieves over not coming out to them before they died. Justice Kirby claims that the profile was posted by a fraudster. Although the real authors are not known, the site displays links to a right-wing extremist group based in the U.S. MySpace allows people to create profiles, and post personal details, images and journals online.
