New Arts and Culture Map for Perth

Arts & Culture Map

There’s no longer an excuse for not being able to find your own arts. Grab yourself one of the new eye catching maps that have been jointly produced by Tourism WA, Department for Culture and the Arts and City of Perth, and get out and about. This map is not just for visitors to Perth and the inner city environs, those of you who think there is nothing happening in Dullsville will be pleasantly surprised at how comprehensive the map is. The map covers a broad range of arts and cultural products and a calendar of festivals (even our very own Pride Festival is included). Museums, groovy galleries, commercial galleries, attractions, WA art and designer fashion retail outlets, concert and live music venues, theatres, performing arts companies and cinemas all grace the map, and some even offer special deals.

One of my favourite features of the map is that public artworks are highlighted.  Mainly sculptures and statues, the works date from 1929 to 2006. So, map in hand, take some time out on the weekend on a sunny winter’s day and visit Heirisson Island’s Yagan statue or take a meander through the variety of sculptures in East Perth. Some will be old favourites, but no doubt you’ll discover some public art you didn’t know about that’s just perfect for its environment and on view 24/7.

With the sexy Japanese inspired female entitled, Maiko, from Gullotti Galleries glossing the front cover, you can’t miss these map guides!
