The police charged a Nigerian woman with homosexuality and accused her of illegally wedding four other women in the city of Kano. Aunty Maiduguri went into hiding and has claimed that the wedding was actually a fundraiser to pay for the women’s marriages to men. Under Nigerian law, those convicted of homosexuality could face up to 14 years in prison.
