Orlando Florida Pulse FBI

Today marks one year since the violent attack on Orlando nightclub Pulse, which claimed the lives of 49 people last year.

Pulse will host the victims and families of the incident as the City of Orlando and Orange County government honour June 12 as Orlando United Day, “A Day of Love and Kindness.”

Aside from a private ceremony for loved ones at the site of the attack, Orlando will hold a number of public events where Mayor Buddy Dyer, Mayor Teresa Jacobs and other local officials will host remembrance vigils.

Floridians are taking to social media to pay tribute to those affected by the attack, and people from around the world are showing solidarity with Orlando’s LGBTQIA+ and Latinx communities online.
