Out & Loud is a choral festival for LGBTQIA+ choirs across Australasia to gather, share and sing together this November, and with 350 singers heading to Perth, the team need some volunteer help.
With its origins in ‘Camp Music’ in Sydney (2001), the festival has been held roughly every four years and is coming to Perth for the first time in its 25-year history. Already over 350 choristers have registered for the event that runs between 16 – 20 November.
The festival hub will be the grounds of University of Western Australia, and around 70 volunteers are needed to bring the event to life.
The team are looking for people to assist at registration and social events, help participants find their way around the UWA campus, assist with performances from city pop ups to the Gala Concert, and they’ll also need help with putting out morning teas and lunches.
Volunteers will help keep workshop and rehearsal spaces organised, provide local information for visitors, act as choir liaisons, assist with packing registrants’ welcome pack and they’ll be a big clean up at the end of festival.
Volunteering is its own reward, but those who put there hand up will also get a volunteer pack including a t-shirt, and reduced prices to attend the festival gala.
