OUTinPerth Wins Media Award

On Monday, December 1, as part of the ceremony held at the AIDS Memorial at Robertson Park in North Perth, the West Australian AIDS Council (WAAC) presented OUTinPerth with the World AIDS Day Media Award for 2008. WAAC present the award annually to an individual or media group who have contributed in a positive manner to the education and awareness of the general public through the media.

‘As a reborn publication just over 2 years ago,’ said WAAC Executive Director Trish Langdon when presenting the award, ‘OUTinPerth has evolved into the must read gay and lesbian publication here in Perth. They have been at the forefront of reporting relevant news stories both locally, nationally and internationally on HIV and AIDS.

‘With a keen eye for detail and a sense of conviction and truth in their reporting… the team of OUTinPerth always strive to give Perth a balanced view of the issues.’
