The fundraising initiative of the WA AIDS Council in collaboration with The Backlot features a selection of feature length and short films that capture a variety of queer experiences.

Festival Artistic Director Mark Reid says he is delighted and proud to present the festival’s third incarnation.

“When developing the festival program, we wanted to offer Perth audiences films that were thought provoking, emotional, funny and captivating,” Reid said.

“We have films from all over the world that explore and push the boundaries, show the depth of filmmaking and have a strong narrative focus, that share the film makers’ creative interpretations of the lived experience in 2018.”

This year offers work from Russia, Canada, Spain, the USA, Armenia, Hong Kong and many more. The festival will also present a number of Australian premieres including stripping documentary All Male, All Nude, Hong Kong love story I Miss You When I See You, and the vampiric lesbian romance The Carmilla Movie (pictured).

The festival runs from Wednesday 12th until Tuesday 18th September. Please note all screenings are strictly 18+.
