Sydney was not the only Australian city that had groups protesting the Pope’s recent visit to the country. On Saturday, July 19 at 10.30am, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence held a march at St Mary’s Cathedral and the pedestrian malls in the CBD that coincided with the Sydney protests. Like protests in the eastern states, the protest centred on the Catholic Church’s stance against homosexuality and the use of condoms. Approximately 25 people participated in the Perth protests.
