Pride WA Announce Theme for Pridefest 2013

Rainbow Nation PosterPride WA have announced the theme of this year’s Pridefest is ‘Rainbow Nation: Rainbows Look Better in the Daylight.

This morning the new Pride website has also been launched.

Pride WA Co-President Michelle Rigg said the theme was designed to encourage the local community to unite together for the festival.

“Rainbow Nation will see the Pride Community unite in an explosion of arts, culture and community,” said Rigg.

“It is designed to highlight the strength we achieve through diversity, and celebrate all of the talents that our community possesses.”

Co-President Daniel Smith said the new theme was also designed to inspire, as the parade returned to being a daytime event.

“LGBTI Western Australians live our lives in broad daylight, contributing greatly to every part of life in WA,” said Smith.

The Pride Parade  and ‘Celebration’ event in Russell Square are on Saturday 2 November. The Pridefest festival will run for three weeks.
