Review | Bombshell Delights Creep Show Cabaret was more miss than hit

Bombshell Delight’s Creep Show Cabaret | Rigby’s Bar | Ends 11th February | ★ ★

Performed in the Beer Garden at Rigby’s Bar on St George’s Terrace this show brought together a collection of fire twirlers, and hula hoop swirlers, alongside burlesque performers.

Hosted by the effervescent Simone Springer, who provided entertaining links between the variety of performers who’s talents were hit and miss.

Not helping the proceedings was the fact that the stage was poorly lit and as soon as the performers moved out of the spotlight they were lost to the audience. Half way through the show the spotlight stopped working all together leaving the remaining acts to perform almost in the dark.

The show also included a drinks break halfway through the proceeding, maybe this was to deal with the lighting issues, but having a 10-minute interval in the middle of your hour-long show is bad form. It did however give twenty percent of the audience a chance to escape.

Statuesque burlesque performer Essie Foxglove delivered a revealing piece where she formed shapes underneath a transparent fabric and pole dancer Miss Brooke certainly had a bucket load of talent. Burlesque performer Mixi Mitosis had fun performing to Connie Vannett’s The Pussy Cat Song.

With hundreds of shows to choose from at Fringe World, there are better places you could spent your money than this one.

Tickets to the second performance, which is on Sunday night, are available from Fringe World.
