Review The Presets at Metropolis Fremantle

The PresetsLast night electronic music duo, The Presets, took to the stage at Metropolis Fremantle, delivering what could only be described as an explosive and prismatic, adrenalin pumped show.

Supporting act, local dance duo The Parachute, helped kick the night off with a base heavy set that nailed the task of getting the audience really fired up in preparation for The Presets.

The change of set between acts was unfortunately rather time costly and clunky (kind of ironic, given the artists name), but the crowd soon came flooding back and all was forgotten as soon as Julian and Kim hit the stage.

These guys really know how to rock a crowd, covering all the highlights from their most recent and synth-laced album, Pacifica while still managing to squeeze in the crowd pleasers from their two previous albums; Beams and Apocalypso to keep the audience happy, especially one girl to my left who screamed ‘THIS IS MY FAVOURITE SONG!’ after every song.

All up, this was a completely successful gig with Metropolis being a well chosen venue, the club environment helped complement the style of music while still allowing a more intimate space for fans to get up close and personal.

With one more show set for tonight, and tickets available on the door, this is definitely one way to amp up your Friday night.
