Radiothon is RTRFM’s annual subscription drive running from Friday 16 to Sunday 25 August. It’s the time of year when our presenters, volunteers and staff call on listeners to put their money where their ears are and subscribe and donate to keep community radio strong and vibrant.

The financial support subscribers give us during Radiothon makes up 30% of our annual income and it is this support that makes sure we can continue to make the independent radio which is an essential part of a vibrant local culture and diverse media landscape.

RTRFM is funded by local people who believe it’s important to hear different music, local stories, and diverse voices on their airwaves. By subscribing you are; showing you care about local music, local artists, and local voices, supporting the cultural fabric of our city and amplifying different sounds and ideas, and connecting to local people telling local stories in your community.

By subscribing during Radiothon 2019 you can win great prizes including golden tickets giving you a year of free entry to music and arts events, all the albums featured on RTRFM in the last year, luxurious holiday accommodation, fun courses, exclusive experiences, delicious food and booze prizes and more.

The adventure begins at 6am, Friday August 16, and you can join us at The Bird Mess Hall for the Radiothon Early Birds party, a dancing in the daylight get down with DJ Aslan Will Bixler and Girlname with toasted magic from Toast Face Grillah.

Throughout the 10-day Radiothon extravaganza the RTRFM studios will be inundated with special guests: from appearances from much-loved former presenters and visits from local personalities, to live in-studio performances from our favorite musicians. Listen and subscribe to be part of something that amplifies different sounds, voices, and ideas, making your world a more diverse place.

Everyone that subscribes to RTRFM during Radiothon 2019 goes in the running to take home one of our amazing major prizes. We’ve put together some amazing experiences for you this year including the now famous RTRFM Golden Ticket, which is free entry to all the gigs at The Rosemount, Mojos and Rock Rover for a year and free entry to all other Cool Perth Nights gigs throughout the year.

Plus, you can win a collection of tickets to events from WASO, Perth Concert Hall, Perth Symphony Orchestra, Perth Theatre Trust and WAAPA with the Golden Ticket in the arts. You could also win a double pass to every music event at Perth Festival Chevron Gardens during the 2020 festival.

Plus dinner at Besk Bar, Clay Making workshops, a brew day at Feral Brewing, free beer for a year from Mane Liquor, a backyard party from Beer Farm, a weekend away at Bunker Bay Pullman Resort or Cottesloe Beach Chalets.

For those who pay early and before the end of Radiothon on August 25, you could win a double pass to Wave Rock Weekender with all the trimmings.

This year we have simplified the subscription types, giving you one less decision to make and making sure your support helps fund RTRFM into the future.

All RTRFM subscribers receive discounts all around town at some of our favourite local businesses as well as exclusive screenings, cheap tickets, and prizes throughout the year.

Donors and subscribers have until Monday September 30 to pay their pledges and go in the running to win one of our major prizes.

When you subscribe to RTRFM you’re connected to local people making local radio (and telling local stories) in your community.
