For over two decades the event has been held in the Somerville auditorium at the University of Western Australia. Being asked to perform at the event is now seen as a rites of passage for local musicians.

‘In the Pines’ is often a moment when much loved band reform, giving fans a chance to relive their youth. This year much loved 90’s indie heroes Flanders are getting back together for the event, and there is sure to be some serious moshing when they crank out their anthemic Anky Fremp.

Plus also among the 20 acts playing is the brilliant Grace Barbe, much loved Downsyde, Noah Dillon, Flossy and Yomi Ship. A highlight is sure to be a Jake Webb from Methyl Ethel playing a special solo set.

Tickets for the event can be bought online on Saturday, or you can try and pick one up on the door on Sunday – but be warned this event always sells out.

If you’ve never been to ‘In the Pines’ it’s a great way to sample lots of local music with bands taking the the stage in quick succession. Grab some mates, a picnic rug and head down to UWA for a perfect Sunday.

Here’s the playing times of all the performers, if you can;t make it down to UWA – tune in to RTRFM 92.1 for the live broadcast.
