The DJ uploaded an image of two canvases reading ‘I do’, alongside the caption “After asking her to be mine 3 times always to be rejected I swore I’d never ask again… then this morning at 6 am she broke into my house with flowers, coffee and a question… and I said.. go f*ck yourself… just kidding I said.”

Phoebe Dahl is a fashion designer and CEO of FairCloth clothing, a brand that donates two school uniforms to girls in Nepal for every dress sold. She is also the granddaughter of legendary childrens’ author Roald Dahl and actress Patricia Neal, and cousin of former model Sophie Dahl.

Rose told KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O that she thought she was being pranked when Dahl proposed.

“She broke into my house with flowers and a card at like five in the morning, she gets down on one knee and says ‘Ruby, will you marry me’ … I was so convinced it was a prank,” she said. ““This is my soulmate, this is the woman of my life, we’re so in love,”

Rose was formerly engaged to model Catherine McNeil, but the pair ended their relationship in 2010.

The director of Australian Marriage Equality, Ivan Hinton congratulated the couple, saying: “

“It is always wonderful to hear when two people who have found love and happiness decide to journey through life together through the commitment of marriage.

“Ruby and Phoebe’s decision to cement their commitment to one another through marriage demonstrates this generation’s respect for an institution that, throughout the world, is being broadened to include all loving couples.

“The overwhelmingly positive reaction on social media strengthens my confidence of an Australian future that celebrates all relationships equally.”
