Stephen Fry heads back to Perth

Stephen Fry will be in Perth in November with his show ‘Telling Tales’ which sees Fry share some personal stories in an evening that promises to be filled with fun and frolics.

Fry’s career began when he was at University where he became involved with the Cambridge Footlights, here he met his long-time collaborator and friend Hugh Laurie.

As half of the comic double act Fry and Laurie, he co-wrote and co-starred in ‘A Bit of Fry & Laurie’, and took the role of Jeeves (with Laurie playing Wooster) in ‘Jeeves and Wooster’. The pair also both appeared in the popular TV series ‘Blackadder’.

Fry’s acting roles include the lead in the film ‘Wilde’, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He played the titular character in the television series ‘Kingdom’, and had a recurring guest role as Dr. Gordon Wyatt on the crime series ‘Bones’. In ‘The Hobbit’ film trilogy he played The Master of Laketown.

He presented the award-winning documentary series ‘Out There’, documenting the lives of lesbian, bisexual gay and transgender people around the world is part of his thirty year advocacy of the rights of the LGBT community.  He married his partner Elliot Spencer in January this year.

Fry is most frequently seen on television as the host of the celebrity quiz show ‘QI’ – he previously visited Perth to present a live version of the show.

As well as his work in television, Fry has contributed columns and articles for newspapers and magazines, appears frequently on radio, reads for voice-overs and has written four novels and three volumes of autobiography, ‘Moab Is My Washpot’, ‘The Fry Chronicles’ and ‘More Fool Me’.

Stephen Fry be in Perth on Tuesday November 17th at the Riverside Theatre. Tickets can be booked via Ticketek and go on sale on Tuesday September 1st at 9am.

The tour will also take in Melbourne on Monday November 9th, Canberra on Saturday November 14th and Sydney on Saturday November 21st.
