StyleAID 2007 'Reflects' a Success

On August 10th, StyleAID 2007 Reflections took over the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre Ballroom to raise money for the WA AIDS Council through fashion shows from top local designers, raffles and auctions. Though the final figure is yet to be determined, StyleAID organiser Mark Reid, who also works for the WA AIDS Council said he is ‘confident of having raised much more money than previous years and much more than expected.’

This year’s StyleAID marked the event’s tenth anniversary and was also the first year that Van Lee group was the naming rights sponsor. Recently, StyleAID announced that Van Lee would continue as naming rights sponsor for the next two years.

‘I am so proud to announce that Matt Lee and the Van Lee group have signed on to be the naming rights sponsor for the event for 2008 and 2009… to have secured them for the next two years is a great forward step for the event. This ensures that we will be able to continue to lift the bar for the event and to be able to raise more funds for the WA AIDS Council,’ said Mr Reid.

Matt Lee, the Managing Director of Van Lee Construction, said he enjoyed his company’s role as naming rights sponsor and looked forward to aiding in the event’s future growth.

Mr Lee told OUTinPerth, ‘Talking to Mark Reid and Aly May shortly after the event, it was agreed that next year will have 12 months planning go into it, rather than 6 months. Knowing they have a naming rights sponsor will relax Mark’s mind and he will be able to focus on the event as such and trying to secure the Principal sponsors and maybe a few more major sponsors.’
