StyleAID 2010: tribe

PIt is once again that time of the year when work begins in earnest to pull together what has evolved into the number one fashion fundraising event for the WA AIDS Council – STYLEAID.

Each year the creative team behind the event consider a theme that will encapsulate a certain mood and what that could mean in terms of what STYLEAID is all about.

This year ‘tribe’ is the theme for STYLEAID. ‘tribe’ reflects the coming together of diverse communities, both large and small, making this fantastic event come to life! As members of a range of diverse communities this theme rang true for many of us involved in the event.

Without the support of the WA fashion industry together with our 250+ dedicated volunteers, wonderful sponsors and the committed staff at the WA AIDS Council, STYLEAID would not be possible.

Each year a photo shoot is done to interpret the theme and put together the images that are then used to further publicise the event. For 2010, 25 people worked on the shoot, approximately 500 volunteer hours with everyone donating their time and resources, to put together this amazing series of photographs. Five stylists, five models, five makeup artists, five hair dressers, five different and daring looks coming together to create a unique and refreshing image of ‘tribe’.

STYLEAID tribe will take place this year in the Grand Ballroom at Burswood Entertainment Complex on Friday July 30. We look forward to your support in helping us raise much needed funds to maintain the vital work undertaken by the WA AIDS Council, which strengthen our community’s health and quality of life.

With tickets on sale in May, you can expect another sell out event. For the first time this year you will be able to select your table when you pay for your tickets. In another first for the event this year tickets are at 3 different levels – bronze, silver and gold and come with a range of different options. But rest assured that you will get the best in WA fashion, fine food, great WA wines, Absolut vodka and the famous STYLEAID gift bag, no matter what level of ticket you purchase!
