The 2011 Pride Patron is You

This years’ Pride patron is everyone. Unlike previous years where a single person has been highlighted for their contribution to the community, this year Pride WA has chosen the whole community to be the recipient of the honour.

The Pride festival which has run over the past six weeks finishes on Saturday night with the annual Pride Parade through the streets of Northbridge. Previous patrons have included teacher Suzanne Covich, gender activist Aram Hosie and health worker Mark Reid. Last year’s patron was Freedom Centre Coordinator Dani Wright.

OUTinPerth understands that the decision to award the patronage to the whole community was made after several individuals turned down approaches to be the patron.
