The article highlights three alleged needle attacks reported in Northbridge over the weekend, and that the incidents were connected to Universal Bar and The Court Hotel.

The Court management released a statement to social media expressing that there had been no official complaint, and that The Court were not under investigation by police.

“We are unsure as to why The Court has been mentioned in any of the stories as we’ve not been able to find any evidence to support this allegation nor have the Police,” the statement read.

“Please remember that if you do ever need any help, advice or assistance the court crew are always here to help.”

Later updating the statement, The Court wrote that they were told by the report’s author that their inclusion in the article was a miscommunication between the WA Police and Royal Perth Hospital. The Court Hotel’s name has now been removed from the report.

The Court’s owner Bree Maddox told media that their team have “been digging” and have found no evidence of any such incident at the venue.

“We don’t have a complainant, no one mentioned anything to our staff,” Maddox told Community News.

“As far as we can tell this didn’t happen, we would know about it.”

Speaking to Guardian Express, Universal Bar co-owner Trevor Candido said their venue’s staff assisted the woman named in The West, and are working with police to assist with the investigation. 9 News also aired footage of Universal Bar’s CCTV, showing no evidence of an attack.
