Diversions Vol. 1 The Songs of Robert Whyatt and Anthony and the Johnsons

British folk bank The Unthanks gathered one night in the Union Chapel in London and performed an intimate show that paid homage to the work of two extremely different artists. In the first half of the show the band played six tracks by Anthony and The Johnsons, before moving on to nine songs by Robert Wyatt. It’s a beautifully warm performance, reminiscent of The Cowboy Junkies album Trinity Sessions. You Are My Sister takes on a different (and straighter) meaning when performed by sisters Rachel and Becky but it’s gorgeous all the way through. – Graeme Watson
