Miley has dropped last name, now she’s just being Miley. She’s heading into a leather bar filled with hunky fellas for her new song Bass Persuades.
The track, which debuted this morning, is the first taste of the singer’s new album of the same name, due for release on 18 September. It will be the tenth album of Miley’s career and her first under new label Atlantic Records.
The song sees Miley collaborating with Kid Harpoon, Michael Pollack and Aldae, who also worked on her hit Flowers. Kid Harpoon recently collaborated with Harry Styles on some of his most recent work.
“Music takes hold of us,” Miley said of the album’s meaning.
“We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.
“Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”
The new release arrives just 16 months after Miley’s previous album, Something Beautiful, which returned her to the Top 10 in the UK, the US and Australia.
The accompanying video features choreography from Sergio Reis, who previously created the distinctive dance routines seen in videos by Troye Sivan.
