Radio Music Society

(Concord Music)

Radio Music Society—Esperanza Spalding’s most diverse and ambitious album yet—is star packed, featuring Algebra Blessett, Lionel Loueke, Joe Lovano and Lalah Hathaway. It leans a little more towards pop than previous albums, but Experanza’s staggering and varied talent and broad view are still evident, with horns, organ, R&B vocal and classical strings. Each of the 12 tracks is accompanied by conceptual music videos which express Esperanza’s inspiration, and the story behind the tracks. The videos were shot in multiple locations including New York City, Portland, Oregon and Barcelona, Spain—all videos will be available to purchasers of the album as digital download or as a DVD on the ‘deluxe’ version.
