CAMPus: Pick a Peck of Prizes…

Did you come down the first CAMPus GLCS fundraising evening at the Court on the 31st of March? You probably should have. The raffle tickets were cheap and the prizes were plentiful. Maybe you would have won the $150 pleasure pack from adultshop.com… Or maybe it would have been a voucher from Method Clothing, or a delicious meal at the Fremantle Muscle Bar, or even free dance lessons with Outdance… At the very least you would have had a really nice, relaxed night with your friends, and a warm sensation in your belly as you headed home with the knowledge that you had helped one of your community’s longest running volunteer organisations continue to provide their important services, such as our phone counselling service, and our Opening Closets training.

Don’t worry though, we’re a forgiving lot and we’re happy to let bygones be bygones. You’ve even got a chance to redeem yourself! CAMPus is held at the Court Hotel on the last Tuesday of every single month. The next one will be held on the 26th of May between 5 and 8pm, and we promise that the raffle prizes will be just as grand! We’ve got some fabulous quizzes lined up for you too.

To everyone who did come down to CAMPus in March and April, GLCS would like to thank each and every one of you! It was wonderful to see you all there. We sold a great number of raffle tickets, and we were particularly surprised and delighted at the number of donations! We hope you all had a good time, and we suspect you did – it seemed like hardly anyone left empty-handed. Even if you didn’t win anything, the law of averages says that the next night is your night! Stay positive – that pleasure pack WILL be yours if you keep coming back. Please remember to tell your friends and bring them along to the next one so that they have a chance to be part of the fun.

We’re always searching for fresh ideas to make CAMPus bigger and brighter – be it in the way of prize donations, ideas for entertainment at future events, or anything else – so if you are keen to help out please don’t hesitate to get in touch –email admin@glcs.org.au or call our office on 9486 9855.

We hope to see you all back at the Court and in generous spirit on the for the third CAMPus on the 26th of May!

Laura Mitchell, GLCS Board Secretary
