Pride WA have announced the theme for PRIDEFEST 2026, revealing the tag line of Side by Side.
“This PRIDEFEST, we stand together SIDE BY SIDE – Every Identity. One Community.” Pride WA said sharing the extended tagline focussed around community building and solidarity.

“Pride WA was born from a community that marched, protested and refused to be silenced, and that spirit remains with us today. SIDE BY SIDE is a celebration, but also a reminder: about how we got here because community stood together, spoke up and fought for the rights that we value, as we continue to call for safety and reform.
“From PRIDEFEST 2026 Fairday to the Parade, and across our arts and culture, community and sport events, we celebrate every identity, culture and story that makes up Western Australia’s LGBTQIASB+ community, while honouring the solidarity that built this movement.
“It is a theme that reflects Pride WA’s commitment to ensuring First Nations, CALD, disability, youth and elder communities are not only seen and heard, but actively supported, included and celebrated.
“Standing as a unified front, our differences do not divide us; they sit perfectly SIDE BY SIDE, a reminder that unity and diversity are not opposites, and proudly with our allies, are together unbreakable.

Chair of Pride WA Peter Foster said the theme was one that celebrated difference and diversity.
“Our differences don’t divide us, they strengthen us, and this year’s SIDE BY SIDE theme recognises the power of standing together across cultures, generations, abilities and identities.
“PRIDEFEST 2026 is an opportunity to celebrate our community’s diversity, honour our history, and demonstrate that together we are stronger than ever.” Foster said.
The popular Fairday community event will be held on Sunday 8 November, and the event is moving to a new home at Moort-ak Waadiny – Wellington Square. The Pride Parade through the streets of Northbridge will be held on Saturday 28 November. They key dates were announced in early April.
