WA Tennis Star Casey Dellacqua is Gay

CaseyTennis star Casey Dellacqua has casually come out, sharing that’s she’s gay and celebrating the birth of a son with her partner.

The 28 year old Tennis champion, who is from Perth, surprised reporters earlier this week following her first round loss at the US Open by revealing her sexuality and new family status.

Dellacqua said she has even more to play for now that she and her partner Amanda have welcomed a child.

“It was my time to be at home and it was my time to relax and enjoy myself,” said Dellacqua, explaining why she had missed this years Wimbledon tournament.

“I’m loving motherhood, my whole thing in life is family and it’s been a pretty exciting time.”

Casey won her first glam slam title at the French Open in 2011, playing in the mixed doubles alongside American Scott Lipsky. She has represented Australia at the Olympics on two occasions.
