Joey Cookman-McAuley who takes her daughter to the groups regular meetings explains that the group thought it would be great to get involved in the parade and show everyone exampkles of queer families.

“We thought it would be an awesome idea to get families to march in the new daytime parade,” said Cookman-McAuley, “We’re after Mums and Dads, single parents, allies, anyone really who want to join in.”

It won’t be Cookman-McAuley’s first time marching in the parade, but it will be a first for her daughter who was born earlier this year.

“Marching in the Pride parade is exciting and exhilarating,” Cookman-McAuley said, “It’s the kind of events that’s kids would love.”

For people who’d like to be involved the group has an event page on Facebook or people can contact Joey at joeyfaye@gmail.com
