Madonna's Next Film Finds Writer

Madonna‘Adé: A Love Story’, the film that Madonna reportedly hopes to direct, has moved forward with a writer being signed to the project.

The Hollywood Reporter‘ has announced that writer Dianne Houston will take on the task of converting the novel by Rebecca Walker.

Walker, who is the daughter of ‘The Color Purple’ author Alice Walker, published her tale of a young girl who grows up in a Christian-Jewish household before falling in love with a Muslim man when visiting the Ivory Coast.

The book was published in 2013.

 

Madonna’s directorial debut ‘W.E.’ was released in 2011 and revived mixed reviews. The film went straight to DVD in Australia. Madonna’s previous directing effort ‘Filth and Wisdom’ was screened on the festival circuit.
