LGBTI inclusivity organisation Pride in Diversity have announced their top national 20 LGBTI Employers of 2015.

The winners were determined using Pride in Diversity’s Australian Workplace Equality Index, the organisation’s annual service that evaluates and benchmarks LGBTI inclusiveness in the workplace.

PricewaterhouseCoopers was named Australia’s number one LGBTI employer, making it the first organisation to be awarded the honour two years running.

A number of other awards were also announced, including an Innovation Award for ANZ’s GayTMs, Smaller Employer Award for Mental Health for Key Assets and the Regional Employer Award for Children and Young Peoples’ Mental Health.

WA’s Curtin University was named the highest ranking university, and the University of Western Australia also placed in the top 20 Australian LGBTI employers.

Presenting the Awards at the Ceremony, the Hon Michael Kirby made the following comments, “I applaud all the organisations here today, and indeed individuals who have played critical roles in their ongoing commitment and support of their LGBTI employees and colleagues.

“While many employees feel comfortable to be themselves at work, let’s not lose sight of the fact that many more do not. Where we stand today is still not good enough. The more inclusive your workplace culture, the more likely people will be to engage, respect and contribute to the organisation they are working for.”

  1. Thanks for covering this. Congratulations to all employers listed! There’s a lot of great work being done around Australia and by the university sector in WA. Congratulations to Curtin for coming third. The University of Western Australia placed 10th, so technically came in the top 10, not the top 20. I think it deserves a tag as well 🙂
