Michael Kirby to speak at Murdoch University

Michael KirbyThe Hon Dr Michael Kirby AC CMG will be speaking at Murdoch University later this month.

The former Justice of the High Court is going to be speaking at a Symposium titled ‘Promoting Human Rights in Australian Educational Communities for People of Diverse Genders and Sexualities.’

The talk will cover topics including marriage equality, and the recent debate over the Safe Schools Coalition.

The respected jurist and academic served as a Justice of the High Court of Australia from 1996 to 2009.

Speaking alongside the Hon Dr Kirby will be a selection of expert speakers. The discussion will be hosted by respected journalist Victoria Laurie.

Monday 16th May 2016, 4:30pm for 5:00pm start. The talk will end at 7:15pm. The venue is the Kim Beazley Lecture Theatre.
