Josh Thomas’ TV series ‘Please Like Me’ has been left without a US broadcaster after Participant Media announced it was permanently closing down cable channel Pivot.

The channel, that was focused at Millennials, heavily promoted the series when it debuted in the USA with Thomas’ picture appearing on buses as part of a promotional campaign, (just like Carrie Bradford in ‘Sex and the City’)

‘Please Like Me’ has just wrapped filming on it’s fourth season and the new episodes are in post production.

Kevin Whyte the show’s Executive Producer has told OUTinPerth that the show is on track to appear on our screens in November and hopefully it will still be seen in the USA.

“Please Like Me series four has just completed shooting in Melbourne and is in post-production. We are working with our partners at Participant Media towards finding a new US premiere home for this latest series which will debut here on the ABC in November.” Whyte said.

The dramedy (drama/comedy) about a bunch of friends dealing with life’s challenges has grown in popularity since it first debuted on ABC2 back in 2103. The commitment from the US broadcaster was widely seen as being instrumental in the show being renewed after it’s first season.

Whether finding a new overseas broadcast partner is essential to shows continued success is something none of the show’s producers are currently commenting on.
