The new clip previews the story for the upcoming eighth season of Murphy’s horror seriesApocalypse – showing queer star Sarah Paulson’s new role as the enigmatic Venable.

Paulson will also star as past characters – potion-maker Cordelia Goode (Season 3: Coven) and medium Billie Dean Howard (Season 1: Murder House, Season 5: Hotel) – in Murphy’s most ambitious cross-over of the anthology, which has introduced actors as fresh characters with each new story.

Paulson will be joined by Ryan Murphy mainstays Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson and returning queen Jessica Lange among others – as well as legendary newcomers Joan Collins and Angelica Huston.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse is due to premiere this September.
