Bonds same-sex couple image draws criticism

Iconic Aussie underwear brand Bonds has been criticised by followers for showing a promotional image of two men embracing.

Bonds posted the pic of two guys underwear clad men embracing over breakfast to their Instagram page. The post upset some of their followers who deemed it “inappropriate” but others soon came to the underwear brands defence.

The photo was posted with the caption “It’s the little moments that make the Christmas season so special”

Some followers said the image was inappropriate and vowed never to wear the underwear brand again, other said they were not offended by the couple of being of the same gender, but were upset because of the depiction of them kissing.

Other supporters however soon called out the homophobic posts and thanked the underwear brand for supporting diversity and inclusion.

Bonds followed up their controversial two men post with an image featuring three guys.  The picture had the tag line “Xmas Day hangs with your flatmates, it’s the bonds that make the season. Tag your crew.” Once agains the page was hit was complaints that the brand was being deliberately sexual .
